HAPPI Project - Phase II
EmpoweRx was awarded a two year Phase II CDC Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grant to continue our work on the HAPPI project. This grant will support the research and development of the HAPPI toolkit. The HAPPI toolkit will include a wide variety of resources including a clinical decision-making software as well as educational resources and content to support pharmacists prescribing birth control. This project is being developed with support from experts at Purdue University.

2022-2023
HAPPI Project - Phase I
EmpoweRx was awarded a Phase I CDC Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grant to explore ways to improve implementation of pharmacist-prescribed birth control services. These insights led to the development of a Hormonal contraceptive Access via Pharmacist-Prescribing Implementation (HAPPI) package that will support effective and sustainable provision of pharmacist-prescribed contraception services. The goal of this project is to support pharmacies and pharmacists in providing direct access to birth control to their communities across the United States.

2023-2024
Contraception Access Learning Community
EmpoweRx created a learning community centered on pharmacist-prescribed contraceptive services, with funding from ASTHO. In addition, EmpoweRx provided technical assistance to states interested in implementing pharmacist-prescribed contraceptive services.
2023
Repro Health Podcasts
Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, The Repro Rx Podcast produced four episodes focused on reproductive health in pharmacy practice. Dr. Rafie co-hosted these episodes with the Central Valley Voices for Access. Listeners learned how pharmacists can take action to support access to reproductive services in their community.

2022
Pharmacologic Interventions for Healthy Pregnancies
Supported by funding from the March of Dimes, EmpoweRx created and accredited a course on healthy pregnancies for continuing education credit. The course brought together domain experts and provided education on clinician interventions to address gaps in care during and between pregnancies. The course sought to change clinician behaviors and improve patient outcomes.
